Why I made this game
Everybody likes their eggs a little differently. Some people want the yolk to run all over their hash browns, and some won't touch an egg unless it's cooked hard. But getting an egg exactly the way someone asked for it is trickier than it sounds. Who hasn't aimed for a jammy yolk and ended up with a hard one? I thought it would be fun to turn that little morning showdown at the stove into a game.
The controls are simple: the burner is on only while you hold the button, and you plate the egg when it looks just right. That means you can play a round with one hand on your phone in about a minute. Watch the color of the whites, the shine of the yolk, and the change in the sizzle, and compare your Today's Special score with family and friends. Along with “Eyeball It,” also on nacn.app, I hope you enjoy it as part of a little kitchen series.
About the game's content
The way the eggs cook and change in the game is simplified to make it easy to play. Real cooking times for fried eggs depend on your stove, your pan, and the size of your eggs. The diner and customers in the game are fictional and have nothing to do with any real restaurant or person.
